Dr Kim Parlett received his DDS degree in 1979 from the University of Toronto, and a Masters degree in Dental Science from Donau University, Austria, in 2004. He has lectured to study clubs and scientific meetings in Canada and the United States on occlusion and TMD. He was a research associate at Eastman Dental Centre and published on MRI and Jaw tracking for the Diagnosis of Temperomandibular Joint problems. He has maintained a successful dental practice in Bracebridge, Ontario for 35 years with emphasis on functional rehabilitation of patients with occlusal and TMD related disorders. He is a founding member of an International dental academy , (www.iaaid.com), a past president of the International Dental Study Club, member of the American Equilibration Society and past president of the Canadian Academy of Restorative Dentistry and Prosthodontics. Currently he is part of the teaching faculty for the Vienna School of Interdisciplinary Dentistry and lectures in Europe and Asia.
He has been inducted as a fellow into several honorary Academies including the International College of Dentists ,the American College of Dentists and the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
Robert P.M. Matsui was born in Toronto, Ontario and received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Walsh University in North Canton, Ohio in 2007, where he was awarded an athletic and academic scholarship. There he played four years of Collegiate baseball, graduated Summa Cum Laude and was listed to the “Who’s Who Among students in American Universities and Colleges” in his graduating year. He received his M.Sc. degree in Oral Microbiology from the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto in 2009 and his D.D.S. Degree from U of T in 2013 where he was awarded the Joseph Harker Johnson Scholarship for recognition as the most outstanding student in clinical Oral Surgery and Anesthesia. Dr. Matsui was also the inaugural speaker at the Faculty of Dentistry Mentorship Lecture Series where he discussed his experiences providing basic and emergency dental care to the remote aborigional community of Fond du Lac, Saskatchewan for the past two and a half years. He is a member of the Ontario Dental Association and has been actively involved in numerous volunteer, community, mentorship and coaching programs. He has a passion for teaching with specific focus on personal development through sports, particularly baseball and hockey.
